Why did you choose Reigate College?
I felt it had the best facilities for the courses I wanted to do. It was also local to me and had a great reputation.
What do you enjoy most about the College?
I enjoy the freedom of the courses compared to GCSE. In GCSE it felt like you learnt all the content in lessons, whereas in College you need to learn content outside of them too. This is rewarding, as it feels like you’re learning for yourself.
I also like the increased freedom. The College is more like a workplace than a school and staff make it clear early on that they want to treat us like adults not children. It’s a great stepping stone into your future career.
What extra-curricular things have you been involved with?
I’m part of the Students’ Union. We meet every week and I get to make decisions about upcoming events and ways of improving students’ wellbeing.
I was also an Enrichment Ambassador, helping to organise and run pop-up activities, and encouraging students to take part in the College’s Clubs.
