Why did you choose Reigate College?

I wanted to have a change of scene from my secondary school and meet new people.

How and why did you decide which subjects to study?

I want to have a career in Engineering so Engineering and Product Design were obvious choices. I chose BTEC Music because I play guitar and wanted to have a subject that would be different from my two design-based subjects.

How did you find the move from school to College?

I found the transition from school to college relatively seamless. I liked how I no longer had to wear a uniform and how I was treated more like an adult by the teachers.

What have you enjoyed most about your courses?

I’ve enjoyed having the ability to use the workshop and experiment with new tools, machines and materials.

Have you been involved with any extra-curricular activities?

I’ve been part of a band since my first year, with BTEC Music friends. We’ve performed at numerous College events such as Winter Concerts and Battle of the Bands – these have been a welcome break from lessons and course work.

What do you think makes Reigate College good place to be a student?

The opportunities and support that are available to everyone.

What are your plans for the future?

I’ve secured an apprenticeship with KBR, an engineering company based in Leatherhead, that I’m starting in September 2019.
