How and why did you decide which subjects to study?
I chose the subjects I enjoy the most and the ones I hoped would give me the best chance of studying Engineering at university.
What have you enjoyed most about your courses?
I’ve enjoyed the problem-solving aspect of Maths and how it has really challenged me and pushed my learning. In Physics I like that we study things in a much greater depth than at GCSE and I like that Geography contrasts with my other subjects.
How have you found the teaching and support?
The teaching staff are extremely helpful and spend a lot of time running revision sessions to help us prepare for exams. The Careers Department helped me massively with my work experience and university applications.
What activities have you been involved in outside of regular lessons?
I’ve been part of the Aspire Programme which has helped me improve my UCAS application and figure out what I want to study in the future. It has also helped me to deepen my interest in my subjects by encouraging me to attend university taster days and a summer school.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to study Mechanical Engineering and have an offer from Imperial College London.
