How and why did you decide which subjects to study?
I’ve always loved performing. Having started at Stagecoach and knowing what it feels like to be on stage, I chose a course that would allow me to do that all day, every day. Initially I was going to do Music (Performance) and Musical Theatre with Acting but just before enrolment I was offered the chance to give the Extended Diploma a try (the equivalent to doing three A Levels), and I’m so glad I did.
How did you find the move from school to College?
I went from knowing everyone in my year at school to knowing only one other person at College, but the people here are so welcoming and understand you might feel a bit uncertain at first. Knowing my teachers were there to support me was a real comfort.
What have you enjoyed most about your courses?
I’ve really enjoyed the rehearsals for the shows and assessments. It doesn’t feel like work to me as it’s such a fun process and so enjoyable.
What do you like most about being a student at Reigate College?
Being treated like an equal by my teachers and knowing they genuinely want to listen to me and value my opinion.
What are your plans for the future?
I’m hoping to go to De Montfort University to study Performing Arts. Eventually I want to perform on stage, appear in a couple of movies and then go into teaching.
